Flic 2 allows users to control almost anything with a push of a button
When we speak of gadgets, we usuallz think of devices like smartphones, music plazers, headphones, tablets, laptops and more. However, there are other gadgets out there too, that can make our lives easier. One of them is the Flic 2. As its name suggests, it is a reiteration of a previous gagdet that turned out to be quite popular. Just like in any other case, the second device plans to be even more useful and offer more features. The Flac 2 doesn’t say much at first glance, as it is simply a button. It is wireless, it’s not attached to anything, so it seems to be quite useless. Even so, it can do a lot.
Flic 2 is indeed a button, but it is a smart button. Users can be as creative as it gets when assigning tasks to this little gadget. The smart button can help users remotely control their smartphones, different apps, smart lights, and more. Basically, the sky is the limit when it comes to what users can do with this. Some use it to find their phones in the house, others control their light with the button, and there are people who use the smart button to let their spouses know when they will be home by sharing their geo-location with them.
Users can set the actions the smart button will take when they push it once, twice or hold it through the Flic App. The new smart button even has an LED light which can turn green, yellow or red, depending on the status of its actions. Naturally, green means it completed its task, the light turns yellow when the action is started but not completed yet and when users see the red light, it means that the action was not completed successfully.
The Flic 2 is quite small, so some could worry about losing or misplacing it. The developers of the smart button designed some really cool ways of keeping this from happening. Users can equip their Flic 2 with a rigid metal clip-on that they can attach to their key chains, bags, or even their clothes without it looking awkward or they can stick the button to almost any surface due to its reusable micro-suction pad. Flic 2 has Bluetooth 5.0 Long Range capability, so it won’t be a problem for it to send the signal to the controlled device. There is also a Flic Hub with an IR accessory that allows users to control all the devices that would normally need remote controls.
Flic 2 is now the object of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The project is already more than 600% founded, so those who would like to own smart buttons should not be worried about backing a project that is going to fail after all. For $25 or more backers can get one Flic 2. $69 can get backers 4 Flics, while for $99 or more they will also get a Flic Hub beside the 4 Flic 2s. You can check out the project here.
