Google’s Pixel 4 might work great but it doesn’t look like a 2019 flagship
The Google Pixel 4 is one of the most awaited smartphones of the year. The company has a lot of fans who just love the pure Android experience and the fact that the tech giant equips its smartphones with the best hardware and software they can imagine. Unfortunately, Google seems to have one huge problem: its handsets almost never keep up with the trends so they look rather dated. Unfortunately, this seems to be the case with the Pixel 4 too. Images of the upcoming device recently surfaced, showing the gadget in the wild, but they are quite disappointing for those who were expecting a flagship that doesn’t only work great but also looks awesome.
The images come from famous leakster SlashLeaks, who is rarely wrong, so they might be showing exactly what the Pixel 4 is like. The back of the smartphone was already shown off by Google in leaks of some official photos, and the newly leaked pictures confirm the square camera setup on the back of the handset. While this is a feature that people just love or hate, with no options in between, what really surprises is the front of the smartphone. Nowadays, almost all flagship devices have really thin bezels, some of them almost invisible to the naked eye, but the Pixel 4 sports a top bezel that reminds us of the Samsung and Apple devices that were rocking a few years back.
Those who would like to own a smartphone that has a modern design will certainly not be impressed by the looks of Google’s upcoming flagship. Of course, on the inside, it will probably be one of the most powerful smartphones of the year. The handset will most likely come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset on board, paired with an Adreno 640 GPU and it will include at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Naturally, the smartphone will run Android Q out of the box, which is one of the main reasons users love Google Pixel smartphones.
The cameras of the smartphone are also expected to excel at taking pictures and videos. There will be two camera sensors on the back of the phone and two on the front, sitting in the thick top bezel. According to rumors, one of the sensors on the back will be a telephoto camera, and on the front, there will be an extra sensor too, possibly for hand gestures. Overall, the Google pixel 4 doesn’t promise to be an eye-catching smartphone. Then again, the majority of Pixel fans purchase the devices for its software, not its looks.
There are still months to go until the launch of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, so there is a chance that these aren’t even genuine photos and the handset will look nicer. We just have to wait and see.
