Google’s Stadia Controller will reportedly work on other platforms too
Google’s upcoming game streaming service is definitely in the center of attention for gamers. While the company did reveal quite a lot regarding the service, there were still some questions left unanswered and some of them recently got clarified. The extra information comes from a Google Support page’s FAQ section. Besides others, the new info reveals that the Stadia Controller might be designed for this particular platform, but it will also work with other ones when connected to a phone, tablet, or computer with a USB cable. According to the support page, the Stadia Controller acts as a standard USB HID controller when plugged in via USB cable, so users should be able to use it on other platforms too. However, the answer does state that it could work on other platforms too, it doesn’t guarantee it.
The same Google Support page also revealed the fact that those who choose a Stadia Pro subscription and then stop paying for it will not lose their progress in games. Whenever they will start using Stadia Pro again, they can pick up things from exactly where they left them. Also, once a user purchases a game, they will be able to play it for as long as they want to, even if the game publisher decides to pull the game from sale. Once you have it, you can’t lose it. Of course, there can always be unforeseen circumstances, but the rule is that users will be able to enjoy the games they purchased even if the game will not be available for purchase anymore.
Stadia users will be able to pair up to four Stadia Controllers to a single account whenever they will want to play multiplayer games. Unfortunately, there is still no news regarding the game streaming service’s VR support. VR games have become quite popular so it would really be a shame for Stadia not to offer users the possibility to play them. Then again, no one denied the fact that there will be VR support, they just didn’t confirm that either.
It will still take a while for the Stadia game streaming service to go live. People seem to be really interested in it, so we might just see another success story coming our way.
