Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro coming in style later this month

Huawei sub-brand Honor is going to launch two new devices later this month. The Honor 20 series handsets are eagerly awaited by many smartphone users and it seems their patience won’t go unrewarded. According to the company, the Honor 20 and the Honor 20 Pro will be truly amazing, at least when it comes to design. As Honor puts it, the new smartphones will have a “multi-dimensional, Dynamic Holographic glass back”. This really sounds interesting and hopefully, the result will be as astonishing as it sounds. The company disclosed that the new design is due to a new process they used in manufacturing.

To be more exact, instead of just creating a glass back for the phones, the Huawei sub-brand chose a two-stage process. First, they developed a depth layer, which is, according to the company, “embedded with millions of miniature prisms that resemble pieces of diamonds.” Above this layer comes the colored glass one. Honor’s devices usually come in interesting and beautiful colors and the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro will most likely follow this trend, so we might just see some cool-looking handsets in the next couple of weeks.

The Honor 20 and 20 Pro will launch on May 21. While there still are a few days to go until then, we know quite a lot about the devices. The manufacturing company confirmed some of the rumors already, so besides the actual look of the handsets, we probably won’t have any surprises, good or bad. The Honor 20 and 20 Pro will reportedly sport 6.26-inch displays with a generous 91.6 percent screen to body ratio. We can expect a triple camera setup on the back of the handsets and a single selfie camera on the front. While many people were expecting the new Honor smartphone to launch with an in-display fingerprint sensor, it seems that Honor went for a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead.

Other foreseeable specs of the upcoming devices include Kirin 980 chipsets, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB internal storage, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and Android 9 operating system. Rumor has it that the Honor 20 will cost somewhere around $400, which is quite a fair price for everything it has to offer. There still are a few days to go until the launch so Honor might confirm other details too before the launch event takes place.
