Honor 20 Lite to feature in-display fingerprint sensor and baby blue and pink colors

Even though the year is slowly coming to an end, smartphone manufacturers keep announcing new handsets, filling the market with devices of all kinds. The Google Pixel 4 series handsets launch today, and the Realme X2 Pro also has a global launch event today. Next week, it will be Honor’s turn to launch a new device, the Honor 20 Lite, which actually looks like a child’s toy, judging by the promotional images. Of course, it will be a fully functional device with some really interesting specs and features.

The Honor 20 Lite portrayed in the promotional image has an interesting, baby blue and pink combination, which looks rather childish but it is also something totally new on the market, we have to admit that. The image doesn’t show the front of the handset, only the back, where we can see a triple rear camera setup and no fingerprint sensor. Rumors previously hinted toward an in-display fingerprint sensor, so the image only confirms this information, it doesn’t actually tell us anything new.

Under the hood of the new Honor 20 Lite, there will reportedly be a Kirin 810 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. The handset will run Android 9 Pie OS that is customized with EMUI 9 UI. As for the battery, it will reportedly be a 4,000mAh one, which should be more than enough for ensuring a good battery life. Even though the latest promotional image doesn’t show it, the screen of the Honor 20 Lite will be one of its nicest features. The new model is one of the few Honor handsets to sport an AMOLED screen, which always adds a lot to the visual experience.

The new Honor 20 Lite, which will launch on October 22 is not the same as the Honor 20 Lite that launched back in April and is currently known as the Honor 20i in China. The new model has a more powerful processor and a slightly larger display. Why Honor opted to name the new device the same as the older one remains a mystery. Even so, apart from the naming issues, the new model promises to be a really nice one. Hopefully, it will become available in more than one color option.
