Honor 9X pre-order live in China

The Huawei Honor 9X and 9X Pro finally launched in China. The Honor 9X is available for preorder starting today while those who want to opt for the 9X Pro will have to wait a few more days until July 30 in order to preorder the handset. As for their release dates, the 9X will become available for purchase on July 30 and the Pro will hit the stores a little later, on August 9. The 9X’s starting price is 1399 Yuan, which translates into around $203. The Pro is, naturally, more expensive with its 2199 Yuan price tag (around $320). Both models have more expensive variants too, depending on the storage and memory they offer.

Given the fact that a lot of information regarding the Honor 9X and 9X Pro surfaced well before the official launch of the handsets, the Huawei subsidiary didn’t really surprise anyone with anything at today’s launch event. The handsets are just like they were rumored to be. Both models have the same size, as they both sport 6.59-inch 1080p LCD displays with a 5:9 ratio. They also share the same type of processor, namely the HiSilicon Kirin 810, but the Pro adds liquid cooling to the equation which is rather nice. To be more exact, this feature and the fact that the Pro offers a higher amount of storage and an extra camera sensor are basically the only differences between the models. Still, they are worth taking a look at.

Honor 9X

The Honor 9X includes 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on the variant, and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The 9X Pro comes with 8GB of RAM, which could ensure much better user experience, and users can opt for 128GB or 256GB internal storage variants. The base model features a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48MP sensor and a 2MP one, while the Pro model adds another 8MP wide-angle lens to the picture, having a triple rear camera setup. Both models have 16MP pop-up selfie cameras. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted, not an in-display one as some people hoped for.

Honor 9X Pro

The Huawei Honor 9X is available for preorder in three color variants: Black, Blue, and Red. 9X Pro users will only be able to choose between two colors: Black and Purple. On paper, the new Honor smartphones look quite nice. They have reasonable price tags too for what they have to offer so we might see them conquer the budget-phone market, at least in some regions. Only time will tell if this will be the case or not.
