Honor doesn’t need a gaming phone, it has the Honor GamePad
Gaming phones are quite popular. Several smartphone manufacturers launched their gaming smartphone models this year, and some might do that before the end of the year. Huawei subsidiary, Honor is not one of them. Even so, gamers might find something they would love in Honor’s offer. The company just showed off its gaming accessory, the Honor GamePad, and, to be honest, the Huawei subsidiary doesn’t seem to need to launch a gaming phone as the accessory is pretty great by itself. The GamePad easily connects to any smartphone via Bluetooth.
Even more, if gamers connect the gaming accessory to their smartphones via a USB Type-C cable, it will charge their smartphones. Of course, it is also possible that the gadget will draw energy from the smartphone in case it needs it. Either way as long as one of the devices, the GamePad or the smartphone is charged, the other won’t die either. The controlling itself, however, is made through the Bluetooth connection. The snap-on Honor GamePad sports 4 D-pad buttons, a joystick, shoulder button, and one extra button. Users can customize the buttons depending on the games they would like to play. One thing is sure: playing games using the GamePad is a lot more fun than simply trying to use the on-screen controls. It just feels better and the controls are more accurate.
Honor did not specify whether the control only works with certain types of smartphones. The Honor GamePad’s size seems to be adjustable, so there should be several smartphones that will match the gadget. While Honor did not reveal any concrete information regarding the release date of the GamePad, it did state that it will sell it in Western Europe this year. This means that we should see the gadget in these markets in the next couple of months. Unfortunately, there is no info regarding the pricing of the device either just yet.
