Motorola Moto G8 Play to launch on October 24, renders leaked ahead of unveiling
No smartphone manufacturer can keep its upcoming devices a secret anymore. Even though Motorola is believed to plan on announcing several devices on October 24, images of the upcoming handsets already emerged. First, photos of the Motorola Moto G8 Plus surfaced, now it’s the Moto G8 Play’s turn to show up. The Motorola Moto G8 Play renders that recently leaked on the internet show a device that shares a lot of similarities with the Moto G8 Plus, however, at a closer look there are also some differences between the devices. The most obvious one consists in the size differences between the two. The Plus comes with a 6.3-inch display which is considerably larger than the Play’s 5.7-inch screen. This also reflects in their overall size.
The Motorola Moto G8 Play has the specific design of the company’s devices, with rounded corners and the Moto logo on the back, which doubles as a fingerprint sensor. Apart from this, on the back of the Moto G8 Play, there is a triple camera setup, most likely consisting of a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, a 48MP main sensor, and a depth sensor. The G8 Plus has an extra camera lens on the back, so this is one of the differences between the two upcoming smartphones. There is a slight difference in the size of the waterdrop notch too, which is larger on the Moto G8 Play than the one on the Plus model. As for the sensors, rumor has it that the Plus will sport a 25MP selfie snapper. There is no concrete information regarding the selfie camera of the Moto G8 Play.
Under the hood of the Motorola Moto G8 Play, there will reportedly be a
Helio P60 or P70 SoC. It seems that there will be several memory and storage options. The base model could offer 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage while the most powerful variant could include 4GB of memory and 64GB internal storage. Other rumored specs of the upcoming handsets include a 4,000mAh battery, NFC and dual SIM support. Naturally, it will have a more accessible price than the Moto G8 Plus.
If rumors prove to be accurate, we will get to see the new Motorola devices next week, on October 24. Before that, we will probably find out even more about the smartphones, including pricing and availability.
