Pixel 4 launch date set for 15 October, new information emerges
Now that Apple launched its new devices, the Google Pixel 4 series handsets are the ones we are all eagerly waiting for. While everyone already pointed towards an October launch date, now we have a more concrete one. The new Google smartphones will most likely launch on October 15. Naturally, as the event approaches, more and more information regarding the handsets surfaces. The majority of them are rumors and it seems that some of them already proved to be inaccurate. We refer primarily to the chipset of the handset here. Rumor had it that the new smartphones will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus under their hood.
According to the latest reports, this is not true. Instead, the Pixel 4 will be powered by the Snapdragon 855. To be honest, this doesn’t really make any difference as the 855 Plus doesn’t bring too much extra power to the table. The reports specifically name the Pixel 4 XL to be carrying the vanilla SD 855 SoC, however, it’s safe to assume that the smaller Google smartphone will have the same chipset, just like in previous years. Other rumors suggest that the XL will also get a tad smaller. The difference will be barely noticeable, as the screen could shrink from 6.3 inches to 6.23 inches. The aspect ratio will also supposedly change from 18:5:9 to 19:9.
New information regarding the Motion Sense feature of the handsets also emerged. Others have shown off a new color option, the Coral, which might or might not come along the white and black options we were already used to seeing. Even though it seems that we have all the information regarding the specs and features of the upcoming smartphones, we can expect more rumors to surface in the next couple of weeks, shedding some light on all the details regarding the Google Pixel 4 series handsets. Who knows what else Google prepared for us all?
