Redmi Note 8 to launch in three days with SD 665 on board
Redmi is about to launch its Note 8 series handsets in only three days, on August 29. Naturally, rumors regarding the smartphones have surfaced quite a while back, however, the manufacturing company now confirmed that the base model will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 655 chipset. Up until now, rumor had it that the Note 8 series devices will come with the Helio G90T on board, however, it seems that this information was not exactly accurate. Of course, there still is a possibility that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will rock that chipset, but the regular model will definitely not.
The Redmi Note 8 has to be more impressive than its predecessor, the Note 7 and it doesn’t have an easy task to live up to. The Note 7 was already great with its Snapdragon 660 chipset, 48MP camera, and nice design. Probably this is why Xiaomi chose to equip its upcoming Note 8 with the even more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, and we already know that instead of the 48MP camera, the Note 8 will come with a 64MP sensor. The info regarding the 64MP camera comes from a poster which refers to the Note 8 series handsets’ launch on August 29. While we do hope that both the regular Note 8 and the Note 8 Pro will have the 64MP sensor, it is also possible that only the Pro version will get it.
As we previously reported, the August 29 event won’t only introduce the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and the Note 8 Pro to the world. The chinses giant will reportedly launch a low-end, budget-friendly device too at the same event. It will most likely be the Redmi 8, with a 6.2-inch 720p display, a huge, 5,000mAh battery, 2GB or 4GB of RAM, and 16GB to 64GB internal storage. Naturally, it will be a lot more affordable than the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro, which have more impressive features to offer. There are only three days to go until the big launch event so we might find out more about the gadgets in the upcoming hours.
