Redmi Note 8T renders show an almost identical twin of the regular Note 8

Reiterations of existing models is definitely not a novelty anymore. The Redmi Note 8 is no exception from the rule. Even though Xiaomi only recently released the handset, it is already rumored that a new handset, called the Redmi Note 8T is on its way. Renders of the device already surfaced. Based on the images, there will be no major difference between the new handset and the existing one. It is possible that the only notable difference between the two will be the addition of NFC support to the 8T.

The leaked renders of the Redmi Note 8T show a device that has the exact same design as the Note 8. Of course, there is a change in the case’s color, but the camera setup and the fingerprint scanner are positioned exactly the same way. There might be a difference in size too, but that doesn’t come off clearly from the images. Some think that there will be some improvements on the inside too. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 that launched in August and hit the market starting September comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. According to the initial rumors, the 8T could feature a slightly more powerful, SD 710 SoC. However, this piece of information was not confirmed so there is a chance that the Note 8T will also sport the Snapdragon 665 chipset.

In case the Redmi Note 8T will indeed be similar in all its features to the regular Note 8 except for the NFC support, we can expect Redmi to launch a 6.3-inch device with a quad-camera setup on the back and a single front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Besides the aforementioned SD 665 chipset, the new handset could offer 3GB or 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. Hopefully, the 8T will run Android Q based MIUI out of the box.

There is no official launch date for the Redmi Note 8T set just yet. As a matter of fact, the manufacturing company didn’t even confirm the existence of the new model. However, if it does exist and all it has to offer over the regular Note 8 is the NFC, the pricing of the handset should be similar to the one of the existing model. Redmi should share some information regarding the Note 8T in the upcoming days if they are going to launch the new handset this year. NFC is indeed a useful feature, so hopefully, the Note 8T will hit the markets soon.
