Samsung Galaxy Active 2019 focuses more on usefulness than looks
Samsung’s Galaxy Active series smartphones might not be everyone’s cup of tea, however, there are quite a few people who just love the rugged device that is not a constant break-threat, instead, it focuses on being a useful gadget. The Samsung Galaxy Active 2019 is not available yet, however, the first rumors regarding the launch of the handset recently surfaced. The data is scarce, so we don’t know as much about the handset as we would like to, but at least we do know what it will look like. There is a small surprise in the design section, as the Samsung Galaxy Active 2019 seems to focus even less on the looks and gives way, instead, to more useful features, like comfortable-to-use physical buttons.
The phone, which we’ve got a glimpse at at the MWC 2019, gives up the all-screen look, which might be a downside for some but it won’t pose a problem to others. The rugged smartphone, which, as its name suggests, aims to please active people, has a resistant body which won’t crack at the first drop and has a number of physical buttons that makes using it a lot easier and more comfortable than relying on the touchscreen.
According to previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Active 2019 will have a 5.2-inch display with a 2540 x 1440 resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone reportedly hides the Exynos 9610 chipset, and a 4,500mAh battery makes sure that users don’t run out of juice when they need their handset the most. On the back of the device, users will find the fingerprint sensor, alongside the 12.2-inch camera. As for the selfie camera, it supposedly has an 8MP sensor. The smartphone probably runs Android 8.1 and according to the latest reports, it will an AT&T handset in the US.
While the leaked images hint towards an August 9 launch date, it’s still not clear whether the device will become available to the general public. According to some, the Samsung Galaxy Active 2019 will only become available for AT&T’s FirstNet responder network. August 9 is only a few days away, and then we will find out more about the matter.
