Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite launching in Europe on September 16
What better way to start the week off than with a brand new handset? The Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite will make its debut on September 16 in Europe, in Spain to be more specific. The information is not a rumor, it comes through official channels, as it was posted on Xiaomi Espana’s Facebook page. The poster doesn’t only reveal the launch date and the official name of the upcoming Xiaomi device, it also shows that the smartphone will don a 32MP selfie camera and a triple camera setup on the back, with a 48MP main sensor.
While there is no more info regarding the handset, the majority of people believe that the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite is, in fact, the same device as the previously launched Chinese Mi CC 9, only with a different moniker. If this is indeed the case, the new Mi 9 Lite will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset and it will include 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The smartphone’s screen will be a 6.39-inch AMOLED display.
Even though the poster only refers to the main sensor of the triple camera setup on the back of the handset, if the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite proves to be the same device as the Mi CC 9 that launched in China, it means that the other two sensors will be an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Other features of the handset include a 4.000mAh battery, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and 18W charging support. Xiaomi Espana did not announce the pricing of the phone just yet. If we are to take into consideration the Mi CC 9’s pricing in China, we expect the Mi 9 Lite to have a starting price of around $300. In China the handset only costs a little over $250, however, the European prices are almost always a tad higher.
The company will launch the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite on Monday. Then we will certainly find out more regarding the handset’s pricing and availability.
