Xiaomi Mi A3 could feature a 48MP AI camera
Xiaomi is constantly working on new smartphone models and it seems that the Xiaomi Mi A3 is one of the next ones to launch. According to a new FCC listing, a Xiaomi device with model number M1906F9SH is in the works. The listing also contains images of the handset’s back panel that doesn’t only mention the existence of a 48MP AI camera but also shows the Android One logo, so it’s safe to assume that the handset in question is the Xiaomi Mi A3. This is the company’s Android One series that runs stock Android to the delight of the operating system’s fans.
Earlier reports suggested that Xiaomi might launch two new Android One devices this year. While the second handset is still nowhere to be seen, it seems that the first one is almost ready to launch. The phone’s model number is quite similar to another one that previously surfaced on TEENA, so it is quite possible that they are both one model in fact. The one on TEENA resembled the existing Mi CC 9e, so the Xiaomi Mi A3 could look like that model too. It is also possible that the Xiaomi Mi A3 will be in fact a Mi CC 9e running pure Android.
If the upcoming Android One model will indeed be based on the Mi CC 9e we can expect a 6-inch OLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 655 chipset, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. As for the back camera setup, it is quite clear from the listing that users will be able to snap pictures with the help of the triple camera consisting of a 48MP sensor and two others, probably an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. A 4,000mAh battery is also in the cards.
Unfortunately, there is no news yet, not even unofficial news, regarding the launch date and the pricing of the new Android One Xiaomi smartphone. The Mi A1 and Mi A2 launched in September and July, respectively, so it’s safe to assume that the Xiaomi Mi A3 will also launch sometime towards the end of the summer or at the beginning of September. The MI CC 9e launched this month, so we might get to see the Android One model launch in the near future too.
