Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro to launch on November 5 with a penta-lens camera setup

The major smartphone manufacturers all launched their flagship devices of the year. However, this doesn’t mean that other great devices are not coming our way before the end of the year. One of the most impressive ones promises to be the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. The manufacturing company recently posted a teaser on Weibo, showing off a camera setup we haven’t seen before. The teaser images depict a device with a penta-lens camera setup. Of course, this would mean nothing if there were five weak sensors on the device. Thankfully, it is not the case.

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro will reportedly feature a 108MP main camera and 5x optical zoom. It’s not quite clear what the other sensors are, but it’s safe to assume that one of them is an ultra-wide camera, one is a 3D ToF camera, and the other could be a macro camera or a depth sensor. Naturally, it could also be something totally different, however, these are the safest bets. Surprisingly, there aren’t really any extra information regarding the upcoming handset. Based on the fact that it will be the Pro version of the Mi CC9, it’s safe to assume that the new device will also sport a Super AMOLED display, probably a little larger than the 6.39-inch display of the base model.

Hopefully, under the hood of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, there will be a more powerful processor than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 we’ve seen in the base model. The camera setup only requires more power, so it’s hard to imagine that Xiaomi didn’t take this into consideration. There will probably be an in-display fingerprint sensor too, just like there was on the regular Mi CC9. The 4,030mAh battery of the base model is not a bad one, but it would be nice to see an even larger battery, especially if the display gets larger too.

Xiaomi announced that the launch event of the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro will take place on November 5. It’s just over a week until then, so we will probably hear more about the device in the upcoming days. Hopefully, there will be information regarding the pricing and the availability of the device too.
