Xiaomi Redmi 8A getting Pro sibling soon
Xiaomi just announced its latest budget-friendly device, the Xiaomi Redmi 8A. While the story usually ends there in the case of the A-series Xiaomi smartphones, it seems that this year, things will change. According to
RF certification details posted on Xiaomi’s official website, the Xiaomi Redmi 8A Pro is also coming soon. It’s not quite clear what extra features the new model will don over the ones of the Redmi 8A, however, it should normally have some improvements over the vanilla model. Of course, it will also probably be more expensive.
The Xiaomi Redmi 8A the company unveiled yesterday comes with a 6.2-inches 720p display and it has a modern, simple design, with a waterdrop selfie camera with an 8MP sensor on the front and a 12MP single camera on the back. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset and it offers 2GB or 3GB of memory, paired with 32GB internal storage. The handset also allows users to add extra storage using the dedicated slot. The 5,000mAh battery is a really nice addition to the equation, as it should normally be able to ensure a more than decent battery life for the handset.
The upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 8A Pro could offer a higher amount of memory and it could also have a slightly larger display. Another novelty could be the new operating system. The Redmi 8A runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10. Since the company is about to launch MIUI 11, it’s safe to assume that the Redmi 8A Pro will ship with this version out of the box. Unfortunately, there is no other information regarding the new handset just yet. It will most likely launch sometime in the near future and it will hopefully be almost as affordable as its vanilla sibling. We will probably hear about it more in the next couple of days.
